Nicholas James Adenhart (August 24, 1986–April 9, 2009) was a Major League Baseball starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Adenhart was drafted by the Angels in 14th Round (414 overall) of the 2004 MLB Draft. He became a top ranked prospect in the Angels organization, ranked by Baseball America as the 90th best prospect in baseball and the 6th in the Angels organization in 2006, as the 34th best prospect in baseball and 2nd in the Angels organization in 2007, as the 24th best prospect in baseball and 2nd in the Angels organization in 2008 and as the best prospect in the Angels organization going into 2009
He made his major league debut as the starting pitcher on May 1, 2008, against the Oakland Athletics at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim, California, replacing Dustin Moseley, who was demoted to the bullpen. He gave up five earned runs and walked five in two innings, earning a no-decision.
Adenhart earned his first career victory on May 12, 2008, against the Chicago White Sox in Anaheim, giving up four earned runs in 5⅔ innings en route to a 10-7 Angels victory.
Adenhart opened the 2009 season in the Angels' major league rotation. In his final game on April 8, 2009, he earned a no-decision, giving up seven hits and no runs while striking out 5 in six innings against the Oakland Athletics at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim, California.
On the morning of April 9, 2009, TMZ reported that Nick Adenhart was killed in a felony hit-and-run car accident, mere hours after he threw six shutout innings against the Oakland A's.[1] The news was soon confirmed by other outlets.[2]
Police reported that an individual driving a minivan ran a red light, causing a two-car crash which killed three people, including Adenhart
. It was also reported that the the person driving the van fled the scene, but was later caught and charged with felony hit-and-run. Adenhart was 22 years old.
